The Vitiligo Association of Australia (VAA) was founded in September 2010 and focuses on providing patient support, raising awareness, educating the public and promoting research into vitiligo within Australia. We currently have approximately 650 members including people with vitiligo, their carers, health professionals and researchers. The VAA website directs members to experts in the treatment of vitiligo as well as other online resources. Some of our current and future projects include the Camouflage Project which will provide online information about camouflage products, and the creation of resources and supports for young adults and children with vitiligo. The VAA also hosts fundraising events and provides an annual research grant to support local research into vitiligo.
